SELF DEVELOPMENT CHRONICLES
One of the benefits of the time and era we currently live in is the easy accessibility to an endless number of resources for your personal growth, development, and learning. Literally speaking, knowledge is currently at your fingertips. How crazy is that? Previous generations could only dream of a time where they would want to know something and all they would have to do is go on google or download an app. The first time I heard about Udemy, I remember thinking, “wow”. My eyes lit up and excitement coursed through my veins. It was like I had been exposed to a world of endless possibilities and in actuality, I was. Now, if I ever feel the need to educate myself on anything or develop a skill, all I would need to do is just search for that thing on any of these apps, and boom, like magic, I am exposed to resources from experts and non-experts in that field. The only downside is if you’re frugal like me, it sometimes can be a challenge paying seemingly large amounts for some of these courses. Recently, I saw this show on @africamagictv called Lions Den, and watching the show was such an eye-opener. It opened my eyes to how much I didn’t know when it came to the intricacies of business and those things actually matter when you want to build a successful business. So, I went on Udemy, Coursera, and Skillshare, looking for the best and most affordable training in business management but the one I finally decided to go for was 5 times the cost I had ever paid for a course. I had to ask myself, how much is really worth the information I’m seeking? My answer was that what I was paying, though above my budget, was well worth the time and effort the teacher took to put that information together. If anything, I was not paying enough for the value I would be getting back. You would always make financial sacrifices for what is important to you. Knowledge is power people! What will you be learning today?
